I am currently employed as a Partner with Key Counsel, P.C., a law corporation. My primary practice areas are in Probate, Guardianships, Conservatorships, Housing, Civil Litigation and Adoption. I also serve as a Pro Tem Judge with Contra Costa County Superior Courts. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Historic Tuskegee University, Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology/Change Leadership from California School of Professional Psychology. I taught the Housing Clinic and Legal Methods at my Law School Alma Matter, John F. Kennedy University, trial skills in a summer program with the California Youth Development League (CYDL) and was a Criminal Justice Instructor at San Leandro High School.
My name, Patanisha, means reconciler of differences. I intend to reconcile differences in Brentwood and support our residents, city and local businesses. I have a wonderful family. My spouse and partner in the firm is Michael Pierson. I have four wonderful children, Sean, Justice, Kayla and Aiden. We have two fur babies and a bearded dragon. I enjoy traveling around the world, singing with my churches praise team, puzzling, community service, and spending time with my family and friends.
I am a committed public servant. I am on the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, the executive Board of California Women Lawyers and serve as a Board Member of the Adams Middle School Parents Club. I was appointed By the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors to a position on the County’s Family and Children's Trust (FACT) Committee. I believe many hands make light work and have volunteered at domestic violence shelters, food banks, housing clinics, schools and children's summer programs.
